Georgia Department of Public Health then in effect. The current isolation protocol as of the date hereof is as follows:
a) If the person was diagnosed with Covid-19 and has any Covid-19 symptoms, isolation may be discontinued: (i) after 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared, and (ii) at least 24 hours have passed since the last fever without the use of fever-reducing drugs, and (iii) symptoms have improved.
b) If the person was diagnosed with Covid-19 but never developed any symptoms, isolation may be discontinued: when 5 days have passed since the positive Covid-19 lab test and there are still no symptoms. However, the person must continue wearing a well-fitting mask for an additional 5 days.
B. PERSONS EXPOSED TO COVID-19.
1. ALL persons exposed to Covid-19, REGARDLESS of vaccination status, should wear a well-fitting mask when around other persons for 10 days following an exposure. It is recommended that a Covid test is obtained on the 5th day after exposure, or earlier if you develop symptoms.
2. Persons with Covid-19 exposure and are not fully vaccinated (and boosted, where eligible). If a person was exposed to Covid-19 based on close contact (within 6 feet for 15 minutes or more), the exposed person shall immediately quarantine at home if the person has not been fully vaccinated for Covid-19 (and boosted, where eligible).
3. The recommended time for quarantine is 10 days from last known exposure. 4. The quarantine period may be shortened, if you do not have any symptoms within 5 days following your last exposure but you must continue to wear a well-fitting mask for an additional 5 days in accordance with the conditions
set forth in the Quarantine Protocol currently established by the GDPH. 5. During the period of quarantine, the quarantined person should monitor for any signs of respiratory illness and monitor for fever by temperature checks twice per day.
