2008 11U Cougars Reach Dizzy Dean World Series Final Four
The 11U Dizzy Dean District 4 Champions and Georgia State “A” Runners Up earned Georgia “bragging rights” by being the last team standing from Georgia in their 4th place finish out of 28 teams in the 2008 Dizzy Dean World Series in Cullman, Alabama July 17 through July 23.

2008 9U Cougars Win State Championship
Although it was a tough battle against a strong Wills Park All-Star team, the 9U Cougars won the second game of the championship finals to win the Dizzy Dean 9U State “B” Championship. The tournament was played over the course of a week in Cartersville, at Hamilton Crossing Park.

Former Sandy Plains pitcher, Mark DiNatale, playing in the International League
Mark DiNatale is not playing in THE International league, rather, the former Sandy Plains All-Star, Lassiter and Georgia State University graduate has joined the US Peace Corps as an Community Environmental Conservation Agent in Panama and is playing baseball on Sunday afternoons in a local Panamanian league.

2008 13U Wildcats win the Fletcher Baseball Championship in South Carolina
On Jul 12th, 2008, the 13U Sandy Plains Wildcats brought home the championship after a week of playing baseball and enjoying Charleston, S.C. and the surrounding area.

2008 11U Cougars State A Runners Up and Sportsmanship Award Winners
The Dizzy Dean District 4 Champion 11U Cougars started the State “A” tournament with an amazing 9 inning 7 to 6 victory over the Druid Hills Bombers. They followed that up with a 6 to 3 triumph over the District 6 Champion Jackson County All Stars.

Field status of all fields as of 10:40 am on October 26, 2008:
ALL fields and cages at Harrison and Sweat Mt. Park are OPEN.
REMINDER: When the parks are closed, this means the fields and cages may not be used at all.
A good faith attempt will be made to update the website by 4:00 pm during the week, by 8:00 am
on Saturday and by noon on Sunday. Any questions regarding the status of your game or practice should be
directed to your team manager. You can always call the SPBA Phone Hotline at 770-281-2850
