Boardmembers,

It is that time of year again to start thinking about your budgets for the next fiscal year. I need for each of you to work with your respective committee leaders and begin submitting your estimates and wishes to me. We will put together a draft budget for the August Board meeting and the final for the September meeting. Please review the budget year over year comparsion on one of the tabs of the financial package I sent out yesterday.

I will analyze the budget for the past 3-4 years and determine the average budget numbers for each area. I will then compare to what you submit and we will work from there. We will discuss the numbers that seem to be "safety" numbers and determine if those are reasonable. Safety numbers are those that are just carried forward from year to year without any thought as to whether they are truly reasonable. In many cases, these are never used.

Please start submitting your numbers to me over the next couple of weeks.
